Inés Pastor-Marazuela, PhD in Astrophysics
About Me
I am a researcher in astrophysics, focusing in the field of Fast Radio Bursts. I use observations from some of the world's most powerful telescopes to study the properties of repeating and non-repeating FRBs and localise them to the host galaxies where they originate. My work contributes to our understanding the origin of these mysterious sources.

Education
I obtained my PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Amsterdam, where I used Apertif, an instrument installed at the Westerbork Synthesis Radio telescope, as well as LOFAR, both in the Netherlands, to increase the population of FRB sources and study their link to neutron stars. Prior to this, I earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics and a Master's degree in Astrophysics at the University Toulouse Paul Sabatier.
Experience
I am currently a Rubicon Research Fellow at the University of Manchester, UK, where I'm working with the MeerTRAP team on finding new FRBs using MeerKAT, a radio telescope in South Africa, and localising them to the galaxies where they come from.
Meet Maxwell

Maxwell has been my furry companion since 2016. I adopted him in Toulouse together with my flatmates, and then I took him with me to Amsterdam, Manchester, and occasionally to Segovia. He's a chatty boy with a unique personality, and most people fall in love with him instantly. Sorry to those who met him as a kitten, when he was a hyperactive devil :')
